2027: Step Aside for new faces – Politician tells Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi

A former spokesman for the Labour Party presidential campaign council, Kenneth Okonkwo, has called on President Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi to step aside and not run in the 2027 elections.

Okonkwo cited their inability to deliver on their promises and unite the opposition as reasons for his position.

During an Arise TV interview, Okonkwo harped on the need for new faces in politics, stating that the current leaders have failed Nigerians.

He also criticized the opposition for their failure to collaborate and form alliances, highlighting the missed opportunity to produce the speaker and vice speaker in the House of Representatives.

Okonkwo’s comments come as Nigerians look towards the 2027 elections, seeking change and effective leadership.

His call for new faces in politics may resonate with those seeking a break from the status quo.

According to the former Nollywood celebrity: “I completely agree with you that we need new faces, 100%, and that was why I have said that Atiku, Peter Obi, and Tinubu should step aside.

“The reason is that the ruling party has failed, and the opposition has failed. Are you aware that in the House of Representatives, you have more opposition members than the ruling class?

“I’m saying you don’t just finish an election, and the first thing you start talking about is the next election. You consolidate and form alliances amongst yourselves to work together as the opposition.

“If all the opposition members in the House of Representatives had come together, they would have produced the speaker and the vice.”
